One step closer towards a sustainable future
Sustainability at Middle East Energy is not a side programme. It shapes how the show is built, what happens on the conference stages and who we bring into the industry, measured year on year in tonnes, kilowatt hours and people.
- Fewer disposable stands
- 24%
- Tonnes of waste diverted
- 100+
- Renewable energy 2025
- 205,000 kWh
- Reusable stand systems
- 75%+
Committed to a responsible Middle East Energy
Middle East Energy is committed to running a sustainable and responsible event, from the materials that build the show floor to the energy that powers it and the conversations that happen on our stages. We set targets, measure results and publish the numbers so progress is visible edition after edition.
- Responsible by design. Every edition is planned around reusable stand systems, recycled Rewind carpet and fewer disposable build materials, so the show leaves less behind each year.
- Powered responsibly. Energy Attribute Certificates cover the electricity behind the event, alongside renewable-powered Informa venues and offices.
- Accelerating the transition. More floor space, more exhibitors and more capital moving into solar, wind and storage, connecting the technology with the buyers who deploy it.
- Knowledge that travels. Conference programming mapped to UN Sustainable Development Goal 7, affordable and clean energy for the region.
- People and inclusion. Student programmes that bring the next generation of engineers into the industry, and a deliberate push on SDG 5 across our speaker line-up.
Sustainability is a shared responsibility, and every individual at Middle East Energy has a role to play. Whether you’re a visitor or an exhibitor, there are simple but effective ways to minimize your environmental impact during the event.

The numbers behind the commitment
Purchased through Energy Attribute Certificates, around 89,000 hours of kettle use, or boiling a kettle constantly for 10 years.
The result of a 24% reduction in disposable stands per net sqm since 2023, roughly the weight of six heavy duty trucks.
Close to five football pitches of carpet recycled this edition, saving a further 10 tons of waste to landfill.
Renewable exhibitor participation in 2025 versus 2023, reflecting the robust expansion of the sector.
Conference sessions in 2025 dedicated to affordable and clean energy across the region.
Direct progress against SDG 5, closing the gender representation gap on our stages.

Over 75% of stands now use reusable systems
The choice an exhibitor makes at build stage has a bigger impact than almost anything else at the event. By rethinking how stands are built and dismantled, we cut waste and back solutions that last well beyond the three show days.
- Modular frames and panels that travel between shows instead of skips
- Fewer bespoke builds, faster installs and lower build costs for exhibitors
- 34,270 sqm of Rewind carpet recycled this edition
- Aligned with the UAE's Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative

The equivalent weight of the 100+ tons of waste saved

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we’re ensuring that the event operates with a minimal environmental footprint.
By utilizing clean energy sources, we’re not only leading by example but also contributing to the region’s efforts towards a greener, more sustainable future. We look forward to showcasing innovations in energy and sustainability, while practicing what we preach.
Backing the wider energy transition
Across our energy portfolio we work to advance accessibility, affordability and innovation in clean energy, promoting sustainable practices, empowering diverse stakeholders and creating measurable contributions to the transition.

Growth in renewable exhibitors
Renewable exhibitor participation grew 53% between 2023 and 2025, with solar, wind and storage taking an increasing share of the floor.
SDG 7 aligned content
Sessions on affordable and clean energy: grid integration, storage economics, hydrogen and the practicalities of deployment across the region.
Renewable energy purchased
Energy Attribute Certificates covering the event's electricity in 2025, the same as boiling a kettle constantly for a decade.
“Behind every sustainability initiative is a genuine passion to make events socially and environmentally better. It’s about creating experiences that inspire responsibility, change and collaboration across the entire value chain.”
